Material & Construction
länn was born from a simple belief: baby clothing deserves the same standards as adult clothing. No compromise on materials, no shortcuts in manufacturing. Here's what lies behind every piece.
The Interview
A natural material is as much earned as it is worn. To preserve its qualities over time:
— Hand wash or machine wash on wool cycle, cold or at 30° maximum
— Do not tumble dry: dry flat, away from direct sunlight
— Ironing not recommended; if necessary, at low temperature and inside out
— Avoid prolonged contact with abrasive surfaces
Well-maintained, a länn piece doesn't just last—it gets better with age.

Expertise
Each länn piece is handcrafted by Textilmanufaktur Maria Seifert, a family-run workshop based in Germany. Maria and her team work with wool with artisanal precision: aged brass zippers, enclosed feet, ribbed cuffs, cotton labels — every detail is designed for durability, not decoration.
It is this dual origin that defines länn: designed in Paris, where form and intention are born; handcrafted in Germany, where material becomes garment.

The Subject
Our pieces are crafted from natural organic fleece, made from GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified Merino wool — a label that guarantees production free from harmful substances, from the field to the finished fabric.
The fabric, Polaris Loden, weighs 410 g/m² and meets the OEKO-TEX Standard 100, certifying the absence of harmful substances for even the most delicate skin. Its density provides warmth and structure without ever weighing down the garment — a material designed to envelop, not to constrain.
Unlike the synthetic fleeces commonly found in children's wardrobes, this is a natural, breathable fiber that regulates body temperature and ages beautifully over time rather than deteriorating.
The wool is mulesing-free — the sheep do not undergo any mutilation related to this practice — and the entire fabric is manufactured in Europe, from spinning to finishing, ensuring short traceability and controlled production standards.
